UConn’s Justin Cotney, Ph.D. to be Honored for Research Excellence by Society for Craniofacial Genetics & Developmental Biology

The Society for Craniofacial Genetics & Developmental Biology (SCGDB) announced that Justin Cotney, Ph.D., associate professor in the UConn School of Medicine’s Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences, will receive its 2023 Marylou Buyse Distinguished Scientist in Craniofacial Research Award. Cotney will be honored on October 10 at the Society’s 46th annual meeting in in Ohio at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where he will receive a commemorative plaque and deliver a plenary lecture on his functional genomics of craniofacial development research.

 

Nagham receives invitation to speak at Neuroscience 2023

Nagham Farah, a PhD candidate in Genetics & Genome Sciences Department, has been invited to speak at the Neuroscience 2023 Conference which is organized by the Society for Neuroscience (SFN) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. She will be giving her talk November 11-15, 2023.

Postdoc Kevin Child receives ASHG Trainee Research Excellence Award

Kevin Child, a postdoc in Genetics & Genome Sciences Department, has received the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) Trainee Research Excellence Award. He will be presenting a poster at the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., on November 1-5, 2023.  In addition to the award, Kevin was chosen for the Reviewers’ Choice Abstract. Nice work Kevin!
